Terms of Service
These Terms are the agreement between you and Qocial for using the service. By creating an account or using Qocial without one, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, which these Terms incorporate.
1. Who can use Qocial
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Qocial handles bounties, paid answers and subscriptions - real money - so we don't offer a reduced-age tier the way a purely social app might. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll close it.
You need to be legally able to enter a binding contract, and you must not be barred from using Qocial under the law of your country or ours. Accounts that have been previously banned for a Terms or Guidelines violation may not be recreated.
2. Your account
Qocial is passwordless. You sign in with an Indian mobile number by one-time code, or with a Google account. There is no password to lose, and we have nothing to leak in a password breach - but that also means whoever controls your phone number or Google account can control your Qocial account, so keep both secure.
- One account per person. Automated or bulk-created accounts are not allowed.
- Your handle and display name must not impersonate another person, brand, or Qocial itself.
- You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including purchases and posts made by anyone you've given access to it.
- Tell us right away at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Content you post
You own what you post - questions, answers, replies, media, everything. By posting it, you give Qocial a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display it, and to distribute it to other users, solely to operate and promote the service (for example, showing your post in someone's feed, or as a link preview). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept where the law requires it or where content has already been shared by others in ways we can't unwind.
You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share, and don't post anything that violates our Community Guidelines - those Guidelines are part of this agreement, not a separate suggestion.
We don't pre-screen posts before they go live, but we may remove content, label it, or limit its reach if it breaks these Terms, the Guidelines, or the law - with or without notice, at our discretion.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Qocial for anything illegal, or to threaten, harass, or endanger anyone;
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-collect data from the service outside our published interfaces, or attempt to reconstruct a directory of accounts;
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, another user's account, or our infrastructure;
- Reverse-engineer the app to bypass a paywall, unlock, or verification check;
- Use the platform to run a bounty, award, or payment scheme that doesn't reflect a genuine question and answer.
The full list of what's and isn't allowed on Qocial - content standards, expert conduct, and how enforcement works - lives in our Community Guidelines.
5. Questions, answers and experts
Anyone can post a free reply to a question. Only accounts we've verified as experts in a given specialty can post a paid answer or claim a bounty in that specialty. Verification is our own review process (credentials or peer attestation) - it is not a licence, and it is not a guarantee. An expert badge means we checked that person's standing on Qocial; it does not mean their answer replaces advice from a licensed doctor, lawyer, financial advisor, or other professional where one is legally required.
For astrology and compatibility questions specifically, if no verified expert answers within the bounty window, Qocial's own computed engine may answer instead so the bounty doesn't go unclaimed. Engine-computed answers are informational and for entertainment purposes - they are not professional advice of any kind, and Qocial makes no claim about their predictive accuracy.
6. Bounties, payments and payouts
Bounty funds are held in escrow from the moment you fund a question until a qualifying answer is posted and the bounty releases, or the bounty expires and is returned per our process. Payments are processed by Razorpay; Qocial never sees or stores your card, UPI, or bank details - Razorpay's own terms and privacy policy govern that part of the transaction.
Funding a bounty or unlocking a paid answer does not guarantee a particular outcome, response time, or answer quality - it guarantees that, if the conditions are met, the expert who answers gets paid and you get the answer.
Expert payouts are only made to a validated, name-matched destination, held for a clearing window before withdrawal, and reviewed for fraud. We don't auto-refund a completed transaction: refund requests are reviewed individually by our team - see [email protected] - and are granted at our discretion where a genuine error occurred (a duplicate charge, a bounty that could never have been answered, and similar cases). This does not affect any right to a refund you have under Indian consumer-protection law that we cannot contractually waive.
7. Subscriptions and plans
Compatibility plans are billed on a recurring cycle (currently monthly) in Indian rupees, through Razorpay. Your plan grants a fixed allowance of distinct-partner comparisons per billing period; unused allowance does not roll over. You can cancel any time from Settings - cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period, except where required by law.
8. Intellectual property
The Qocial name, logo, and product design are ours, and nothing in these Terms gives you rights to them beyond using the service as intended. If you believe something posted on Qocial infringes your copyright or trademark, tell us at [email protected] with the content's URL and a description of your rights, and we'll review and act on valid notices.
9. Third-party services
Signing in with Google and paying through Razorpay both mean you're also bound by those providers' own terms and privacy policies while you're using their part of the flow. We choose these providers carefully, but we don't control them and aren't responsible for their acts or omissions.
10. Disclaimers
Qocial is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any answer - free, paid, or engine-computed - will be accurate, complete, or fit for your specific situation. Content posted by other users and experts reflects their own views, not ours, and we don't independently verify the substance of any answer. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Qocial and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on content, answers, or compatibility results you found here. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold Qocial harmless from any claim arising out of your content, your violation of these Terms or the Guidelines, or your violation of any right of another person.
13. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, the Guidelines, or the law - proportionate to the violation, and with a path to appeal through [email protected] except in cases of severe or repeated abuse. Money already held in escrow at termination is resolved per our refund and payout process, not forfeited.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product changes. For material changes, we'll post a notice on Qocial before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
